As we have seasoned and grown in our craft, we have seen a wide spectrum of the wedding industry. While we still count it a blessing and privilege every time a couple chooses us to shoot their wedding, we feel a particular resonance with something new on our radar – something we have tasted in small part and feel compelled to develop and offer to more couples. Honestly, for most couples we work with, the wedding day itself can be one of the most stressful days of their lives. Even with the swankiest venue money can buy, and the most accomplished wedding coordinator / designer, most couples are left feeling that the wedding monster eats the beauty of the occasion itself, and “off camera” wish they had allocated priorities and money in perhaps different ways.
Instead of just basking in the glory of their special day, they're consumed with the compulsion to entertain all the guests who have traveled and sacrificed time to be there for them. While we cannot overstate how important these close family and friend relationships are in the grand scheme of things, this day is really about one thing...a joint decision to embark on a commitment that will last a lifetime. We want couple to experience the fullness of just that. Just them. In an unforgettable adventure in to the unknown.

Simple + Intimate
Elopements have become "the way" to tie the knot as many couples are appreciating this path as a simpler, more intimate way to tell their love story. Some choose to involve a handful of friends and family, some relish the privacy of just their mate. While many couples enjoy the freedom that elopements afford, even though the details are fewer and guest list shorter, the burden is still left to them to plan, coordinate, and design the event; let alone think through how they would like everything to be documented.
In this digital age, most brides have seen gorgeous Instagram photos of effortless couples gallivanting across beautiful fields, jaw dropping cliff tops, atop open mountain ranges all in perfect light, with a perfect rug, florals, lanterns, lights and throw pillows. While many couples we work with say they are fine without all this, deep down they still want it. They want their photos to be special and intimate and curated. BUT, most really don’t understand that this doesn’t magically happen; it has to be planned & designed.

So you find yourself intrigued by this Adventure Elopement concept and now you need to know... "What's next?" There are few simple questions to answer and you'll be well on your way.
BUDGET
What is your all in budget for this experience. (Outfitting, Coordination, Food, Accommodations, Photo, Video, Florals, Design Elements, etc.)
DATE
When exactly do we want to do this? Seems like it's generally hard to make anything like this become a reality until you first set a date.
ACCOMODATIONS
Is this an overnight aventure? If yes. Do you see yourselves camping? Staying in an Air bnb? Hotel?
LOCATION
Where do we want to elope? This is one of the most significant stories that will be told about your life. What is the setting your invision it unfolding in. Desert? High Desert? Low Desert? Water? Lake? River? Ocean? No Water? Trees? Mountains? For us, we love it when couples say something like "We would love to go on an epic adventure in Moab (or wherever)." And then, as part of your package we would go to Moab and scout a unique place that we've never taken anyone too and create a magical universe within that spot to house your experience.
Successfully answering these questions would make for a great foundation and would be the point that we would start actually talking seriously about Elopement. From there once we've booked a date then we really dive in to working on the details, literally story boarding your experience.
So, after a long-winded background explanation, we are so excited about developing this new fusion concept - a filmmaking approach to once in a lifetime Adventure Elopements that are a perfectly curated balance between the intimacy of an elopement, and the design, elegance, boho chic-ness, planning and outfitting of a super styled wedding. It's this idea that "the adventure" can also be adorned in custom tailored accents that create a signature experience like no other. We are so grateful to be partnered with Desert Harbor Retreat for this new chapter and can't wait to see how it begins to unfold.

Paul & Katie, I’m still pretty suspicious that you all aren’t real and I just had an Alice in wonderland experience. I’m missing you guys- hoping you’ll be hiding behind a cactus when I’m on a walk! Alex and I are sooooo happy with these pictures. They’re so special for us especially when Alex was asked to take off his shirt. Pretty sure that was the happiest moment in his life. From the few grainy Instagram story footages that I’ve seen, the pics from the big day are unreal too! You guys are magicians from what I can tell.
